"Chico's was across the road from our hotel. It seems many restaurants are closed on Monday's in Santa Rosa during the winter. Fortunately they are open and in quick walking distance. After being seated some warm tortilla chips and salsa arrived. The salsa was good, but the heat kept coming as you scooped! It was a creeper. We ordered the Carne Asada platter, two carne asada street tacos and the Caldo de Res, beef shank soup. We enjoyed our meal. The portions were large and flavorful, even enough for left overs. Service was attentive and quick and the food came out hot and fresh. The restaurant was decorated with many items that were also for sale. Pottery, paintings, wall art and more. If we're in Santa Rosa again, we'd definitely return to Chico's."

"Lovely, colorful restaurant. I ordered the house special, which prompted the waitress to warn me that their food is made fresh to order and a large sandwich might take a little longer. I cannot stress enough how much it was worth waiting an extra few minutes for this meal. Perfectly toasted bread, with layers of meat, egg, cheese, and veg that required a fork and knife to eat."

"Food here was amazing! I have a low spice tolerance teen and he loved the place! He ate the salsa and a chicken quesadilla. The lemonade was made fresh no crappy Minute Made stuff here! We tried the queso, it came with 2 baskets of chips. My fajitas were delicious and very flavorful! The burrito was huge and the tacos were delectably! The staff was super efficient and lovely. We were served in a very timely manner and ate within 15 minutes of placing our order."

"Service and food were excellent. Great flavor, tamales were very good meat was just a tad dry in them. Salsa was great. Loved that most of the food we had, had a good little spice kick to it but nothing to crazy. Worth stop In"

"So the poor town is struggggggling. And I mean it is really not doing well, from what I could see. If it wasn't for Chicos being open, I would have had to resort to the only other restaurant opened, and that was gross McDonald's. Chicos is an authentic Mexican restaurant. Beautiful bright colors, art everywhere, and the service was outstanding! The food was really yummy too. The salsa was spicy but cooled down very easily as you consumed more of it. I had Tacos Dorados and 2 beef street tacos. Tacos Dorados was amazing! I destroyed those bad boys. Beans were ok. Rice was a little undercooked and crunchy, but had nice flavor. Beef in my street Tacos was slightly dry. But, who can blame them? It's kind of hard to not have dry beef when your town is falling apart, the tourist aren't coming and business is slow. Literally every authentic Mom n Pop shop was either closed or out of business. Hotels and restaurants were all chain places except Chicos. When every restaurant in town doesn't open until 4pm, that tells you something about the town. They are struggling. They need to develop more attractions somehow other than the lakes Waterpark. Nothing to do here. But anyway... One of the most delightful and lovely young ladies works here. Her name is Brianda. She was very kind, courteous, and has a smile that could light up any room. If you are in town, or a local, please go support this restaurant before it falls to the fatally mismanaged economy that the government has allowed it to become. BTW, I noticed all the police vehicles seemed to be brand new. I wonder where the funding in this town goes. "

"We were a party of 8, some of my friends got the caldo de res which was great, tamales, chicken wings, queso and watermelon juice all good. I had 3 tacos, 2 Al pastor and 1 asada meat was dried, kind of dull and none of the food had Lime, didn't taste fresh to me. I told the waitress that it was crazy not having any limes for a Mexican restaurant..."
